Who wins with it
You're a growing independent agency that wants detailed agency accounting and plans to use PL Rating, InsurLink and other Vertafore products together.
You want simple, transparent pricing or a system new staff can learn in days.
The good and the catch
What it is
AMS360 is Vertafore’s agency management system (AMS) for independent agencies. It holds clients, policies, accounting and documents, and connects to the rest of Vertafore’s lineup: PL Rating for comparative rating, InsurLink for client self-service, AgencyZoom for sales and Vertafore’s Velocity AI agents. Vertafore says AMS360 is “trusted by thousands of agencies” but doesn’t publish a count. Vertafore also sells other management systems, including QQCatalyst and Sagitta, so AMS360 is one of several options.
How it works
Per Vertafore’s product page and 2026 data sheet, a typical account flow runs like this:
- Quote personal lines. PL Rating, Vertafore’s comparative rater, rates multiple carriers at once. Add-ons include vehicle and driver prefill, incident prefill and a home replacement-cost estimator.
- Bind and download. Carriers download new policies, endorsements, claims and renewals into AMS360, removing manual entry. Carrier Downloads also update direct-bill commission statements.
- Handle carrier messages. TransactNOW brings carrier eDocs and messages into AMS360 with instant sign-on to carrier websites.
- Service the account. My Agency Home gives guided workflows and a dashboard. Renewal tools help prioritize accounts, send proposals and mass-distribute certificates.
- Communicate. AMS360 Messenger handles texting. Vertafore Client Communications adds email campaigns and reputation management. InsurLink gives clients 24/7 access to their policy information.
- Account and report. Billing, invoicing, payment tracking, reconciliation, commission splits and a general ledger run inside the system. My Agency Reports covers trend and KPI reporting.
AMS360 Mobile gives access to client and policy data on a phone. AMS360 Connect syncs accounts and contacts with Salesforce.
Where it’s strong
Accounting. Vertafore lists full agency accounting, and G2 reviewers often call out detailed accounting reports.
One-vendor stack. Agencies that already use PL Rating, InsurLink, AgencyZoom or ImageRight get pre-built connections and single sign-on across Vertafore products.
AI on the roadmap and shipping. Vertafore’s Velocity AI agents include Email and Reconciliation agents tied to AMS360. In September 2026 Vertafore announced four more, including a Coach agent that answers how-to questions inside AMS360 and Sagitta. Policy Intake and Policy Check agents were in early adopter testing at that time, per ColoradoBiz.
Security. Vertafore’s AMS360 page shows a SOC 2 seal and mentions an open API for third-party tools.
Where it falls short
Clicks and speed. G2 reviewers often say simple tasks take several clicks, finding older account data is slow, and the system can load slowly.
Reporting. Some reviewers call reporting clunky or manual, even after years on the system.
Support. Support is reachable by phone and chat, but G2 reviewers mention longer response times. G2’s quality-of-support score is 8.6, below HawkSoft’s 9.6 (as of October 2026).
Opaque pricing. There’s no published rate card. Cost depends on seats, package tier and modules, and many useful pieces are separate products.
What agencies tell us
Renewal tools only help once someone sets them up. A New York personal-lines manager admitted her team waits for clients to complain about a rate increase before reshopping. If that sounds like your agency, ask Vertafore to show you how AMS360 flags renewals with large increases, and plan time to configure it.
Pricing and setup
Vertafore doesn’t publish AMS360 pricing; you contact sales (as of October 2026). Expect the quote to vary with user count, package tier and add-ons such as PL Rating, InsurLink and Client Communications. Vertafore doesn’t publish a standard implementation timeline. Ask how conversion is handled and which modules are included before you sign.
Who should look elsewhere
- Large multi-line agencies with benefits books. An enterprise AMS such as Applied Epic covers P&C and benefits in one system and has a broad certified vendor ecosystem.
- Small agencies that want short contracts and top-rated support. HawkSoft offers month-to-month terms and scores higher on G2 support.
- Startups and small personal lines shops. An all-in-one cloud AMS with a built-in rater is faster to set up and easier to budget for.
What agencies say
Reviewers value AMS360's accounting, activity tracking and suspense reminders, and say it handles the whole agency in one place. Common complaints are cost, a dated and sometimes slow interface, reports that are hard to find, and limited integrations.
