What matters most, in order

AMS connection

Certificates should build from live policy data in your AMS, not from a second copy someone has to keep current.

Holder requirements and wording

Check how it handles contract requirements, additional insured and waiver wording, and Description of Operations text.

Client self-service controls

If insureds issue their own certificates, confirm which holders, wording and limits your staff must approve first.

Time to add a holder and send

Most requests reuse a master certificate. Time how long a routine request takes, from new holder to sent PDF.

Changes and cancellations

Ask what happens to issued certificates when a policy is cancelled, non-renewed or endorsed mid-term.

Cost model

Pricing ranges from free agency plans to per-certificate and enterprise contracts, so price it at your annual volume.
