Who wins with it
You quote BOP, WC, cyber and professional lines for small businesses and want to test a platform before paying.
You need quotes and policies to sync both ways with Applied Epic, AMS360 or EZLynx.
The good and the catch
What it is
Semsee is a small-commercial quoting platform for independent agents. You fill out one application and submit it to several carriers. It covers seven lines: BOP, workers’ comp, general liability, professional liability, management lines, cyber and auto. That’s according to the lines graphic on Semsee’s agent page.
As of October 2026, Semsee’s homepage shows 46 carrier logos. Regional and national names include Liberty Mutual, Travelers, Chubb, CNA, The Hanover, Nationwide, Westfield, Acuity and Auto-Owners. Specialists include Coalition, At-Bay, Cowbell, Pie, Guard and Cover Whale. A logo on the homepage doesn’t guarantee a live connection in your state, so confirm each carrier.
Ownership changed this year. On March 24, 2026, iBynd announced it had acquired Semsee through an affiliate, according to Coverager. iBynd plans to combine Semsee’s submission tools with its own rate, quote and bind infrastructure. Semsee’s homepage says the licensed entity is changing its name from Semsee Corp. to Whole Co Services Inc. The same licenses and appointments carry over.
How it works
Based on Semsee’s site and help center:
- Check appetite. A free Appetite Checker shows which markets want a class before you start.
- Build the application. You can start from scratch, upload an ACORD or use an intake form the client fills out. HawkSoft users can pull an existing client record in. Class code and NAICS tools help classify the business.
- Submit to multiple carriers. Semsee connects to carriers by API or by automated portal entry (RPA), according to its carrier page.
- Read the results. Each carrier returns a tile. Statuses include Download Docs, Go to Quote, Finish in Carrier Portal, Blocked (the risk was already submitted elsewhere) and Declined. A reason is shown with Declined when the carrier provides one.
- Take action. For appointed carriers, you bind through a deep link into the carrier’s portal. For carriers reached through Semsee’s market access, you request a bind or an underwriter review in Semsee.
- Revise or requote. Re-Quote/Revise copies the application so you can change limits or answers and resubmit.
Where it’s strong
- Range of lines. Cyber, management liability and professional liability sit beside BOP and WC. That helps agencies selling more than a package to the same small business.
- Pricing you can check. A free tier and a published $50 per user per month price make it easy to test at low volume.
- Market access. Semsee Market Access lets you quote markets you aren’t appointed with, including E&S, according to the vendor. The terms aren’t published.
- Transparent fall-out. The help center explains what each result means and what to do next. That makes referrals and portal hand-offs predictable.
Where it falls short
- AMS integration is limited. HawkSoft is the only AMS integration Semsee documents, and it pulls data into Semsee. We found nothing showing quotes or policies flowing back to an AMS.
- Portal hand-offs for appointed carriers. Any result marked Go to Quote or Finish in Carrier Portal still requires a carrier login.
- Ownership transition. Product plans after the iBynd deal aren’t public yet. Ask about the roadmap and contract terms.
- The Hartford, Progressive and NEXT are not among the carrier logos on the homepage.
- Few public reviews. We could not find G2 or Capterra reviews to summarize.
Pricing and setup
Published pricing as of October 2026:
- Essential: free. Covers Semsee’s appointed carriers, the appetite checker, ACORD upload and creation, and multi-carrier submission.
- Professional: $50 per user per month. Adds quoting through your own direct appointments, the NAICS classification tool and the class code finder.
- Enterprise: contact sales. Adds a white-labeled platform and an underwriting dashboard.
Market Access is sold separately. The FAQ on the pricing page says onboarding includes setup help, connecting your carrier credentials and training. We could not confirm a contract term.
Who should look elsewhere
- Applied Epic or EZLynx shops should compare a rater built into their AMS, where quotes can pre-fill and create policy records.
- Agencies that need specialty or hard-to-place markets may want an exchange that also runs a wholesale placement desk.
- Brokerages building their own front end should look at a developer API instead of an agent-facing app.
