Who wins with it
Your renewals live in an AMS report or spreadsheet, you have one to ten producers, and you want a shared, prioritized renewal board for under $200 a month.
You want renewals reviewed, requoted or emailed for you, or you need a live AMS integration.
The good and the catch
What it is
RenewalCompass is a renewal pipeline tool for independent agencies with roughly one to ten producers. It takes a policy export from your agency management system and turns it into a shared board ranked by renewal risk. It’s made by Regency Software LLC, which describes itself as a founder-led company with more than 14 years of insurance software experience.
It’s deliberately narrow. It doesn’t replace your AMS, quote carriers or contact clients. It answers one question: which renewals need attention first, and who is working them?
How it works
The vendor documents this flow:
- Export. Run a CSV or spreadsheet export from your AMS or your current renewal report.
- Import. A three-step wizard stages the import so you can see skipped or flagged rows and duplicates before anything goes live. A standard carrier list cleans up naming (for example “Travelers” vs “Travelers Ins”).
- Score. Each policy gets a 0-100 lapse-risk score based on days to expiration, premium size and how recently someone contacted the client. It recalculates whenever the board loads.
- Work the board. Renewals move through five stages: Upcoming, In Progress, Committed, Renewed and Lapsed. Alerts go out at 90, 60, 30 and 14 days. Follow-ups attach to the client and policy, with list and calendar views.
- Record the result. After you bind in your AMS or carrier portal, Bind and Renew creates the next term in RenewalCompass. It’s a tracking step only and sends nothing to a carrier.
The vendor suggests re-importing about once a month. Duplicates are skipped and updates merged.
Where it’s strong
Price and terms. Plans run $59, $109 and $199 a month as of October 2026, billed monthly with no long-term contract.
No integration project. If your AMS can export a spreadsheet, you can use it. The vendor says most agencies have a scored board within 20 minutes.
Shared visibility. Owners see the whole book, producers see their own, and CSR access is set per person. An activity log timestamps every stage change and note, and a departing producer’s book can be reassigned in one step.
Useful extras. A book-health dashboard shows premium at risk, renewed-versus-lapsed retention over 30 days and premium by line. A one-page client meeting report pulls every policy and recent activity for an account.
Where it falls short
Manual data refresh. There’s no live AMS connection. Between imports, the board won’t reflect endorsements, cancellations or new policies.
No automation of the renewal work. It doesn’t review coverage changes, requote, or draft client emails. Staff still do all of that in other systems.
Simple scoring. The risk score ignores rate increases, claims and payment history, which are often the strongest signs a client will shop.
No outside validation. Its Slashdot (SourceForge) listing showed no user reviews as of October 2026.
Pricing and setup
As of October 2026:
- Solo, $59/month: one owner or producer seat plus one CSR, up to 1,500 active policies.
- Team, $109/month: five owner, admin or producer seats plus two CSRs, up to 7,500 policies, private producer books and role-based access.
- Agency, $199/month: ten seats plus five CSRs, up to 15,000 policies.
Only active policies count toward the limit. Every plan includes a 14-day free trial (card required), and larger agencies can ask for a custom plan. Payments are non-refundable once processed.
Who should look elsewhere
- Agencies that want renewals worked for them. AI renewal tools review every renewing policy, requote rate increases and draft client emails.
- Agencies already on a CRM with renewal pipelines. An insurance CRM synced to your AMS gives the same board with live data and automated outreach.
- Large or multi-office agencies. Above 15,000 policies or ten producers you’ll need a custom plan, and a live AMS integration matters more at that size.
