Who wins with it

Choose it if

You run HawkSoft, your CSRs spend most of renewal season comparing renewal premiums by hand, and you want requotes waiting in the task.

Skip it if

You're on another AMS today, or you need commercial renewals handled.

The good and the catch

+One task per renewal, already worked. Per the vendor, each renewal arrives as a task with coverage and premium changes summarized, claims noted, and requotes attached when it crossed your threshold.
+Client emails drafted for each outcome. Drafts cover three cases: a rate increase where the client stays, a better rate found, and a premium decrease.
+On-demand reshopping mid-term. CSRs can ask for a requote of any existing client through a chat request, with data pulled from the AMS, per the product page.
+Agency-operator founder. CEO Steve Richter ran an independent agency for 17 years; the CPO previously led product for Salesforce's insurance brokerage product.
−Two-way sync only for HawkSoft. The vendor says two-way integration is currently available for HawkSoft agencies and names no other AMS.
−Carriers and quoting method undisclosed. The site says quotes run with your available carriers but names no carriers and doesn't say whether it uses a rater, portals or APIs.
−Little outside evidence. No trade press coverage, review-site listing or funding announcement turned up in our research as of October 2026; customer logos and one testimonial are on the vendor's site.
−Pricing isn't public. The site offers a 30-minute demo instead of a price list.

What it is

InsurSync is a renewal automation layer for independent P&C agencies. It sits alongside your agency management system rather than replacing it. Its job is to look at every renewal as it comes in, requote the ones with a premium increase you consider too high, and hand the CSR a finished task.

The company is based in Chicago. CEO Steve Richter spent 17 years as an independent agency owner. CTO Vladimir Peck has 20+ years building systems for large P&C insurers, and CPO Phillip Ostberg was Director of Product Management for Salesforce’s insurance brokerage product. The site doesn’t give a founding year. Customer logos include BWO Insurance, TBIG, Central Insurance Associates and American One Insurance Agency.

How it works

The vendor describes four steps:

  1. Connect. InsurSync links to your AMS during onboarding and syncs renewal data daily. The vendor says no IT staff are needed.
  2. Monitor. Its Renewal Manager picks up renewals as they download into the AMS. It compares renewal terms with the prior year, summarizes coverage changes, premium differences and claims, and flags accounts over your premium-increase threshold.
  3. Requote. For flagged accounts, it runs quotes with your other carriers and can produce a comparison PDF across every carrier it quoted.
  4. Act. Each renewal becomes a task routed to the right CSR or producer, with a drafted client email. The draft changes with the outcome: explaining an increase when the client stays, presenting a better rate, or confirming a decrease.

CSRs can also reshop any client mid-term through a chat request, for example after a billing call or an endorsement that raised the premium.

Where it’s strong

The CSR decides, not searches. Comparing renewal premiums, deciding what to remarket and drafting the email are folded into one task. The vendor says review time drops from 45+ minutes to about 5.

Built around how renewals arrive. Work starts from the AMS download, so there’s no export or re-keying step.

Outcome-specific emails. Many tools draft one renewal email. InsurSync documents three variants, which matches how CSRs actually talk to clients.

Operator background. A founder who ran an agency for 17 years is a reasonable signal that the workflow reflects real renewal desks.

Where it falls short

HawkSoft first. Two-way integration is available only for HawkSoft as of October 2026. Agencies on Applied Epic, AMS360 or EZLynx should ask for a timeline in writing.

Personal lines only. The product page shows home and auto examples and doesn’t mention commercial lines.

Few verifiable details. The site names no carriers, doesn’t explain how quotes are run, and doesn’t describe security practices. No trade press coverage or review-site listings turned up to check the vendor’s figures against.

Vendor-reported results. Claims of 50% CSR time freed and up to 5% better retention come without a method or sample.

Pricing and setup

Pricing isn’t published as of October 2026. The vendor offers a 30-minute demo. Setup covers the AMS connection, your requote threshold and task routing rules; the vendor says most agencies are fully running within days. Contract terms aren’t published.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Agencies not on HawkSoft. A renewal tool with documented Applied or Vertafore integrations will save more work today.
  • Commercial-heavy books. Commercial renewals need submission and remarketing tools built for ACORD applications and underwriter follow-up.
  • Agencies that mainly need visibility. If your problem is renewals slipping through the cracks rather than requoting, a low-cost renewal tracker or your CRM’s renewal pipeline may be enough.
