Who wins with it

Choose it if

You run AMS360, QQCatalyst or NowCerts and want lead pipelines, renewal and win-back automation, and producer goals that write back to the AMS.

Skip it if

You're on Applied Epic or EZLynx and need a live sync rather than recurring report uploads.

The good and the catch

+Real two-way sync with Vertafore AMSs. AgencyZoom's AMS360 guide says leads become AMS360 prospects, notes and texts post as activities, tasks create suspenses, and a sold lead can create a policy shell.
+Automation across the whole client lifecycle. Vertafore lists sequences for prospecting, onboarding, follow-ups, reviews, referrals, renewals and win-backs, triggered as leads move through the pipeline.
+Flat plan pricing for small teams. Every plan includes up to 7 users, so a 5-person agency pays $149 to $349 a month regardless of seat count (Oct 2026).
+Widely used. Vertafore says AgencyZoom serves 6,000+ agencies and 50,000 users (product page, Oct 2026).
−Epic and EZLynx are one-way imports. The support center says EZLynx and AgencyZoom 'do not have active communication', and Epic data arrives through manually uploaded CSV reports.
−Texting and calling need a third-party provider. Texting runs through a connected VoIP provider such as RingCentral, Twilio or Bridge, only on Growth and Pro; click-to-call is Pro only.
−Key features sit in the top tiers. Renewal automation, Google review requests and two-way email and text start at Growth; the service center and click-to-call need Pro.
−Larger teams must call sales. The pricing page covers up to 7 users per plan and asks agencies needing more seats to contact sales.

What it is

AgencyZoom is a sales automation and CRM platform built for P&C insurance agencies. It started as a Columbus, Ohio insurtech, and Vertafore bought it in November 2021. Vertafore said at the time that it would unify AgencyZoom’s pipeline, sales automation and onboarding tools with its agency management systems. As of October 2026, Vertafore says AgencyZoom serves more than 6,000 agencies and 50,000 users.

AgencyZoom isn’t an AMS. It sits on top of one and handles leads, follow-up, producer goals, renewal outreach and referrals. Its homepage also lists versions for captive agents (Allstate, State Farm, Farmers and others). This review covers the Essential, Growth and Pro plans.

How it works

Based on Vertafore’s product page and AgencyZoom’s support center:

  1. Leads come in. Leads arrive from lead vendors, web forms, raters and Zapier, or are entered by hand. Each lead shows which producer owns it.
  2. Work the pipeline. Producers drag leads through custom stages. Moving a lead to a new stage can trigger automated emails, texts and tasks.
  3. Write back to the AMS. On AMS360, a new lead becomes a prospect in AMS360. Notes, emails and texts post as activities. Tasks create suspenses, and quotes are logged with their details.
  4. Mark it sold. Moving a lead to Sold converts it to a customer. On AMS360, depending on your settings, it also creates a policy shell.
  5. Onboard and retain. Customers pulled in from the AMS can be enrolled in onboarding or retention sequences. The EZLynx guide, for example, lets you auto-enroll policies issued in the last 1 to 7 days.
  6. Renew, review and win back. Renewal sequences, Google review requests and win-back campaigns run on the customer book. Goal dashboards and activity reports track each producer.

Where it’s strong

Vertafore AMS sync. AgencyZoom’s support center lists live two-way sync with AMS360, QQCatalyst and NowCerts. The AMS360 guide spells out what syncs in each direction. That’s the main thing to check when buying a CRM.

HawkSoft write-back. The overview calls HawkSoft “mainly” one-way. But the HawkSoft guide says enabling both marketplace listings, including “AgencyZoom (Write)”, lets data flow back to HawkSoft.

Automation built for insurance. The prebuilt sequences match how agencies work: X-dates, renewals, cross-sell, referrals and win-backs. You don’t build them from scratch, as you would in a general-purpose CRM.

Predictable cost for small teams. Plans are priced per agency, not per seat, for up to 7 users. Annual prepay saves 20%.

What agencies tell us

Smaller agencies often build their own intake stack: a web form, Zapier, AgencyZoom for the pipeline and the AMS as the record. We’ve seen agencies run it exactly that way. The caution is fatigue. One ops manager’s test for any new software is that it takes things off the team’s plate, not adds to it, so map who works the pipeline before you buy.

Where it falls short

Applied Epic and EZLynx are imports, not syncs. The Epic integration needs two custom CSV reports built in Epic, with columns in AgencyZoom’s order, uploaded on a recurring basis. EZLynx works the same way through report uploads, though you can schedule the EZLynx report to email in automatically. Nothing written in AgencyZoom flows back to either system.

Communication depends on add-ons. Texting and calling run through a third-party VoIP provider. Each provider needs A2P/TCR registration, which can take weeks. Call recording is available only through some providers, such as RingCentral, Twilio and Lightspeed Voice.

Tiering. Essential leaves out renewal automation and two-way texting. Agencies that want retention workflows should budget for Growth ($199) or Pro ($349).

AMS sync complaints. G2 reviewers mention records that don’t sync cleanly with their AMS, including duplicates with AMS360 and gaps with QQCatalyst (Oct 2026).

Pricing and setup

Published pricing as of October 2026:

  • Essential: $149/month. Pipeline, prospecting and onboarding automation, AMS and rater integration, activity reports.
  • Growth: $199/month. Adds renewal automation, Google Reviews, referral sites and two-way email and texting.
  • Pro: $349/month. Adds event automation, the service center, click-to-call, an activity tracker and AgencyHR.

Each plan covers up to 7 users, and larger teams must contact sales. The pricing page notes that some AMS integrations may cost extra. Every plan includes a 14-day free trial and one 1-on-1 setup session. Monthly plans cancel any time. Annual plans are prepaid at a 20% discount.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Applied Epic agencies that need a true two-way sync should compare a CRM with a documented Epic connection, or use Epic’s own sales tools.
  • EZLynx agencies may get more from the EZLynx Management System’s built-in client communication and the EZLynx Rating Engine than from a CRM fed by report uploads.
  • Agencies that want texting included in the price should look at a CRM with native SMS, rather than paying for a separate VoIP provider.

What agencies say

Reviewers credit the sales pipelines and automated follow-up texts and emails with keeping leads and renewals from slipping. Complaints include AMS sync problems such as duplicates with AMS360 or gaps with QQCatalyst, a search that needs exact matches, and Zapier for some integrations.
