Who wins with it

Choose it if

You run Applied Epic and want policy checking, endorsements, certificates and proposals handled by one AI tool that writes back to the AMS.

Skip it if

You want a published price, a long track record or a SOC 2 Type II report today.

The good and the catch

+Checks against several sources. Per the vendor, Policy Check compares the downloaded policy against binders, expiring policies, quotes and AMS data, and flags discrepancies.
+Certified Applied Epic integration. Coverflow became an Applied Certified Integration Vendor in August 2026, with two-way document, activity and policy-level access and no extra Applied license.
+Covers adjacent servicing work. The same platform handles coverage gap analysis, proposals, submission intake to ACORD forms, loss runs, COIs and contract review.
+Independent-agency ties. Coverflow joined the Big "I" Agents Council for Technology in February 2026, and names agencies such as Hartwell, Venbrook and Ellerbrock-Norris as customers.
−No published results. As of October 2026 its case studies and product pages give no policy-checking accuracy or time-saving figures.
−SOC 2 Type II still pending. The vendor's security page says SOC 2 Type I is complete and the Type II observation period is underway.
−Young company. Coverflow raised a $4.8M seed round led by AIX Ventures and was founded in San Francisco in 2023, per Coverager.
−Lines aren't specified. The vendor mentions commercial and personal lines teams but doesn't list which policy types Policy Check supports.

What it is

Coverflow is a San Francisco company that sells an AI platform for the back office of insurance agencies and brokerages. Policy checking is one of several workflows, alongside proposals, submission intake, certificates and loss runs. The company describes itself as an AI operating system for brokerages.

Coverager reported a $4.8 million seed round led by AIX Ventures, with Founder Collective and Afore Capital, and a 2023 founding. In February 2026 the Big “I” announced that Coverflow had joined its Agents Council for Technology (ACT). In August 2026 Applied certified Coverflow as an integration vendor for Applied Epic.

How it works

The vendor’s product page describes Policy Check as part of its renewal workflows:

  1. Collect sources. As binders, quotes and expiring policies arrive, Coverflow reads them. It also reads policy data from the AMS.
  2. Compare on download. When the new policy downloads, it runs the comparison right away.
  3. Flag discrepancies. It flags differences for staff to review. A client advocate quoted on the page says it also compares endorsement forms.
  4. Write back. The Applied press release describes a two-way Epic connection covering documents, activities and policy-level data, used for endorsement processing, COIs and policy checking.

Where it’s strong

Epic integration with no extra license. The August 2026 certification means agencies can use the Epic connection without buying additional Applied licensing, per the release. The Big “I” also lists AMS360 and ImageRight integrations.

One tool for several back-office jobs. Coverage gap analysis, contract requirement checks, ACORD and SOV preparation, loss run reports and COI issuance run on the same platform as policy checking.

Data handling. The vendor says it never trains its models on customer data, stores data in the US, offers field-level permissions and keeps an exportable audit log of every read and write.

Quick start. The vendor describes implementation as short; its Hartwell Corporation case study reports integration in under a week.

Where it falls short

No published numbers. The product page and case study list give no accuracy, time-saved or error-rate figures for policy checking as of October 2026.

Security audit in progress. SOC 2 Type I is complete; Type II is still in its observation period, per the security page.

Short history. The company is about three years old and seed-funded. Leadership references differ across sources: Coverager and the Big “I” name Matthew Fastow as co-founder and CEO, while the August 2026 Applied release names Akash Samant as co-founder and CEO.

Unlisted lines. The vendor doesn’t say which commercial or personal policy types Policy Check supports.

Pricing and setup

Pricing isn’t published as of October 2026. You start with a demo booked through the website. Setup means connecting your AMS, email and document systems; Epic agencies can use the certified integration. Contract terms aren’t published.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Agencies that want E&O backing on the check itself. A provider that runs the review with its own staff and carries E&O for the work shifts more risk off your desk.
  • Price-sensitive small agencies. A self-service checker with a published monthly plan lets you test AI checking before a sales cycle.
  • Agencies needing audited security now. If your clients or carriers require a SOC 2 Type II report, wait for Coverflow’s or choose a vendor that already has one.
