What happened
In late September 2026, Vertafore announced the “Agentic Agency,” its plan to bring AI agents into the systems agencies already use. ColoradoBiz reported the launch on September 23. Four agents run on Vertafore’s Velocity AI Platform:
- Document Intelligence Agent: built into ImageRight. It searches across documents and returns one combined answer. Vertafore says early testers cut document review time by up to 90%. General availability was set for September 2026.
- Coach Agent: answers product and how-to questions inside AMS360 and Sagitta, drawing on product documentation and the agency’s own procedures. Vertafore claims up to 88% less time spent hunting for answers.
- Policy Intake Agent: pulls data from commercial policy documents, maps it into the AMS, updates records, files the documents and logs an audit trail. Vertafore claims intake up to 87% faster.
- Policy Check Agent: compares policy documents with AMS data and supporting files, flags mismatches and suggests fixes. A user approves each fix before the agent applies it.
Vertafore said early adopters are already using the agents. Coach, Policy Intake and Policy Check were due for general availability in early fall. Two more agents for its Smart Submissions product are in development. One gathers and organizes submission data and flags gaps. The other recommends markets based on carrier appetite and agency patterns. Both are scheduled for early adopter programs this winter. None of the coverage we read mentioned pricing.
Why it matters for agencies
In our view, Vertafore and Applied announced nearly the same thing about a week apart: AI extraction and policy checking inside the AMS. For the many agencies on AMS360 or Sagitta, that sets a new baseline. Any third-party tool now has to beat what the AMS vendor bundles.
The performance figures come from Vertafore’s early-adopter testing, with no published method. The approval step on Policy Check is a sound design choice: the agent proposes, a person decides. That is the right default for anything that changes coverage data.
The carrier routing agent is the one to watch. Appetite-based market suggestions inside the AMS would take on standalone appetite and submission tools, but it is not available yet.
What to do
- AMS360 and Sagitta agencies: ask your Vertafore rep which agents your current license includes, what the add-on price is, and the GA date for each.
- Pilot Policy Check on a sample of renewals you have already checked by hand, and compare results.
- ImageRight users: test Document Intelligence on loss runs and old policy files. Those are the slowest documents to search by hand.
- Interested in submission agents? Ask how to join the winter early adopter program.
