What happened
Outmarket AI, a San Francisco company that sells AI software to agencies and brokerages, raised a $34.5 million Series B. TechCrunch reported the round on September 28, 2026. SignalFire led it. Fika Ventures, Permanent Capital Ventures, TTV Capital and Dash Fund also took part. TechCrunch put the valuation at $335 million, citing a person familiar with the deal; the company did not confirm that figure.
The round came about four months after a $17 million Series A, announced May 13, 2026. Insurance Journal reports total funding of $56.5 million. Outmarket says it has passed 10,000 active users and more than 300 agency customers. TechCrunch reported that a quarter of the top 100 agencies are among them.
Outmarket’s Series A release describes the product as a platform that connects to agency management systems and covers commercial, benefits, personal and specialty lines. Named workflows include policy checking, loss run analysis and a Proposal Builder. That release named Applied Epic, AMS360, HawkSoft and Nexsure as supported systems. Outmarket was also one of the first vendors in Applied’s Vendor Certification Program, announced August 12, 2026. TechCrunch named Fulcrum AI and FurtherAI as competitors.
Why it matters for agencies
In our view, two rounds in four months shows investors expect agencies to buy AI for back-office document work, not just quoting. Policy checking, loss run review and proposals are slow, error-prone jobs in most commercial agencies, and they are where E&O claims start.
It also raises the stakes for these vendors. Applied’s new Epic Conductor and Vertafore’s Velocity agents now offer policy checking and document extraction inside the AMS. Standalone tools will need to prove they are more accurate or cover more lines than what your AMS vendor bundles.
Funding is not a product review. A larger round means the vendor is likely to be around for a multi-year contract. It says nothing about accuracy on your accounts.
What to do
- If you’re evaluating Outmarket or a competitor: run a policy check on renewals you have already checked by hand. Count what each tool catches and misses.
- Ask about write-back: what goes into your AMS, and what stays in the vendor’s app.
- Ask about contract terms now that the vendor has new capital: price locks, term length and data export at exit.
- Epic and AMS360 agencies should get pricing for their AMS vendor’s built-in AI before signing a standalone contract.
