What happened
On June 30, 2026, EZLynx, an Applied Systems company, launched Instant Commercial Quoting. It is built into the EZLynx agency management system. As an agent fills in a commercial application, real-time carrier quotes appear in the same submission workflow, with no separate rater or carrier portal.
Key details from the release:
- Lines at launch: general liability, BOP and workers’ comp.
- Markets: EZLynx says it offers widely written standard commercial carriers and plans to grow past 20 markets. It did not name any carriers.
- Plumbing: quotes run over the Ivans distribution network.
- Application: a commercial app built around the risk questions carriers ask most often, so one app can quote several markets. It includes a NAICS code lookup and suggests related lines.
The release did not say whether the feature costs extra or is included in current EZLynx plans. A quoted EZLynx agent, Schelley Bedell of LGE Insurance Services, compared it to having quoting built into the submission from the start.
Why it matters for agencies
In our view, this matters most to personal-lines-heavy EZLynx agencies that write some small commercial on the side. For many of them, small commercial means a separate comparative rater or a round of carrier portals. Putting BOP, GL and WC quotes inside the AMS removes one system and some rekeying.
The market list is the catch. A plan to reach more than 20 markets, with no carriers named, is hard to judge. If your main small commercial carriers aren’t on it, the feature saves little. Real-time quotes also depend on the carrier’s API returning a price. A risk the carrier refers to underwriting won’t come back instantly.
Rekeying is the biggest pain point agents report. In Ivans’ 2026 connectivity survey, 74% of agents ranked rekeying data as their top workflow problem.
What to do
- EZLynx agencies writing small commercial: ask your EZLynx rep for the current carrier list by line and state, and whether there is an added fee.
- Compare it with what you use now. If you already use a commercial rater, quote the same five BOP accounts in both and compare carriers returned, bindable quotes and time spent.
- Ask how referrals and declines show up, and whether quote documents attach to the client record automatically.
- Commercial-heavy agencies with a dedicated commercial rater can wait until the market list grows.
