The short version
Both are long-running personal lines comparative raters. You enter a risk once and quote many carriers. Neither publishes pricing.
EZLynx Rating Engine has the larger published panel (330+ carriers in 48 states as of October 2026). It runs on the same platform as the EZLynx Management System, which Applied Systems owns.
TurboRater, built by ITC and now owned by Zywave, publishes a smaller panel (200+ carriers). Its strength is quoting outside the producer’s desk: on your website, through an API and inside credit union loan flows.
Carriers and lines
EZLynx quotes auto, home and dwelling fire, with 330+ carriers across 48 states. Its product page shows real-time quotes from each carrier you set up.
TurboRater quotes auto, homeowners, condo, renters, dwelling fire and motorcycle, with 200+ personal lines carriers per Zywave. Its Personal Lines Quoting API also covers flood, per the product page. Carriers choose how they connect. Some return real-time rates. Others use what ITC calls a manufactured rating method and must give ITC 30 days’ notice of rate changes. Legacy ITC pages still cite 250+ carriers and a carrier list that stops in 2022, so rely on Zywave’s current figures.
EZLynx’s panel is larger on paper, and TurboRater lists more personal lines on its product page. Neither figure is state by state. Ask each vendor which of your appointed carriers are live in your states. For TurboRater, also ask which carriers are rated in real time.
Workflow and integrations
EZLynx: quote templates store common answers. Prefill and validation come from LexisNexis, Fenris, MSB and Google Maps. Results come back with a color-coded comparison, and you can send the client an interactive proposal. Website quote intake, text-message quoting and abandoned-form follow-up are part of the product. You bind on the carrier’s portal. The rater page names only the EZLynx Management System as an AMS. EZLynx’s partner page lists technology partners for prefill, leads and payments, not other agency systems.
TurboRater: a single-entry form feeds every carrier you set up. Built-in underwriting rules flag ineligible risks and show when prior approval is needed. ITC says results average about four seconds. Reports show closing ratios by producer, location and carrier. Zywave says TurboRater integrates with many agency systems but names only its own Partner Platform, where bound policy details, coverages and premium move into the client record. Embedded quoting is a core use case: TurboRater for Websites, a credit union version and the Quoting API.
Capterra reviews (October 2026) point to the same trade-offs. TurboRater (142 reviews, 4.3/5) gets credit for fast single-entry quoting and dependable bridging, with complaints about carriers that aren’t rated in real time and limited bridging into some AMSs. EZLynx (75 reviews of the whole platform, 3.7/5) gets credit for quoting many carriers at once, with complaints about support access and rates that don’t always carry over to the carrier site.
Pricing and contracts
Neither vendor publishes prices as of October 2026.
EZLynx’s pricing page says cost depends on users and products, with discounts usually available to agency network members.
TurboRater’s site offers “Order Now” and demo requests but no price list. ITC runs free weekly training webinars through TurboRater Academy.
We couldn’t confirm contract length, setup fees or implementation time for either product. For TurboRater, also ask for website and API add-on pricing.
